WhatsApp will start deleting all chat histories on Android, which have not been backed up to Google Drive.
WhatsApp and Google Drive had announced a partnership in August whereby all chats from the messaging account, which were backed to the Drive account would not count against the user’s data storage.
The end game here is that users need to manually backup their WhatsApp data on Google Drive.

How To Manually Backup Your WhatsApp Chat
- Open the WhatsApp app and tap the three dot menu on top right.
- Select Settings > Chats > Chat backup.
- Click on Chat backup and tap Back up. Make sure you are logged into your Google account to save data on Drive.
