Zuckerberg Plans to Merge Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is planning a merger, to integrate its messaging services on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

The plan of the merger was first reported in the New York Times and is believed to be Mark Zuckerberg’s personal project. The news is that the merger has already begun  and should be completed before the end of 2019.

As soon as the merger is complete, Facebook user would be able to communicate directly with someone who only has a WhatsApp account or Instagram account. How cool is that? Though this is currently impossible as the applications have no common core.

The services will continue to operate as stand-alone apps, but their underlying technical infrastructure will be unified
